The YZA studio is at 66 rue Yougoslavie in Guéliz, Marrakech - open 12 to 8pm, closed on Tuesdays. Come to run your hand through the raffia, feel the Jawhara, weigh two bag sizes against each other, pick a fruit charm, and meet the women who make everything by hand. There's mint tea, and no rush.
A street, a family, a studio
Three generations of my family have stayed on this one street in Guéliz, next door to my father's Rotisserie de la Paix - the smell of it still marks the corner. After fifteen years in Paris fashion, I came home and opened the studio where I grew up. So when you walk in, you're not stepping into a boutique that could sit in any city - you're stepping into a small corner of Marrakech, with its own light, its own pace, its own ⵣ. More than a boutique: a creative space, rooted here, made for everywhere.
Why come in person
Come to let the Jawhara - our eastern, often silk-based striped textile - slip cool through your fingers. Come to hold two basket bags side by side and feel which scale belongs to you. Come to choose a fruit charm by hand, to see how Hot Red warms up against Black Olive, or just to ask one of us how a piece will move when you wear it. Movement over measurement - and movement is something you read in the room, in the way a strap falls, never on a screen.
What you'll see
The atelier table, the racks, the work caught mid-stitch. Fatima - thirty-seven years at the crochet - turning raffia into fruit: a slice in about two hours, a bunch of grapes over as many as six. Banana leaf and raffia woven into a basket bag across roughly six days, near forty-eight hours of patient handwork. Beads in a saucer, leather trims, spools of colour on every surface. No two pieces leave us quite the same, and we love them for it - perfectly imperfect.
When we're open
We're open 12 to 8pm, and we close on Tuesdays - a soft, late-afternoon kind of schedule, the way Guéliz likes it. If you're travelling and want to be sure of finding us in, send a message first, and tell us what you're hoping to see. We'll set it out on the table, ready for your hands.
How to find us
We're at 66 rue Yougoslavie, Guéliz, Marrakech. Find the Rotisserie de la Paix - my father's place - and you've found us; we share the same stretch of pavement. Guéliz is a walking quarter: orange trees along the kerb, cafés spilling onto the shade, the light going gold by late afternoon. Take the slow way here. We don't measure a visit in minutes - only in intention.
Carry a piece home
A postcard from Marrakech you can wear anywhere. Take home a piece from this story, or come and watch the handwork happen in Guéliz - the light, the raffia, the hands at the table. A sunny sorority you can join now.

No - it's our atelier first, more a creative space than a boutique. Sit down, take a glass of mint tea, watch the work happen and Fatima turning raffia into fruit, and feel the materials in your own hands before you choose. The phones can rest here.
Of course. Everything in this story is online, and we'll happily help you choose colours and sizes by message, as if you were standing at the table with us. Every piece comes with a 30-day guarantee.
