Reach for the scarf top when you want skin and sun on the shoulders; the bateau top when you want a cleaner, more covered line across the collarbone; the button-up shirt for the piece your hand finds every morning. All three are cut in Jawhara and made to pair with our pareo skirts and palazzo pants - dress in sets, not single pieces.
Why we think in tops
YZA grew on one street in Guéliz, three generations of us, beside my father's Rotisserie de la Paix. In the atelier the women cut and sew in small runs, by hand - the way Fatima, thirty-seven years at the bench, taught the rest of us to slow our hands down. A top is rarely just a top. It is the piece that sets the day: cover or sun, soft or sharp, quiet or playful. So before you choose, feel how each one falls. More hands, fewer machines - less waste, more meaning. ⵣ
Scarf top: the summer one
The scarf top is the most open of the three - light across the shoulders, a little bare at the arm, made for the hour the sun goes low and gold. Tie it to a pareo skirt, or let it sit over palazzo pants, with a fruit charm swinging at the ear. The Jawhara stripe - our poly-and-silk blend, fluid, cut for resort days - catches the light here more than anywhere, the drape moving as you move. This is the one for the long, warm afternoon that does not want to end.
Bateau top: the quiet middle
The bateau neck draws one clean line straight across the collarbone, and that line steadies the Jawhara stripe - settles it, makes the pattern read sharper, more deliberate. Sisters who want to be covered but never stiff keep coming back to this one. It is the calm middle between the scarf top and the shirt - modern, easy on the body, never fussy.
Button-up shirt: the everyday one
The shirt is the one you will wear most - and the only one we cut to a size, in S, M and L, so the collar and the shoulder sit just right. Open over swimwear at the pool, tucked into palazzo pants for dinner, knotted at the waist over a pareo skirt, or thrown on with denim and a woven basket for the morning market. It carries you from breakfast to dusk without asking for much. The bridge between every other piece you own.
Wear them as sets
None of these tops wants to live alone. We cut them to pair - a scarf top with a pareo skirt, a bateau top with palazzo pants, a shirt thrown over either - so your wardrobe becomes a small, repeatable language instead of a drawer of single buys. Play with the colourways too: Hot Red, Deep Violet, Black Olive, Nude, Camel. Fewer pieces, worn more often, loved much longer.
A piece to carry
Carry a piece of Marrakech. Shop the top that called your name, or come find us at 66 rue Yougoslavie - open noon to eight, closed Tuesdays - to run the Jawhara between your fingers and see the handwork up close. A little postcard from Marrakech, to wear wherever you go.

FAQ
The button-up shirt - it carries you from poolside to dinner and home again, and it is the one we cut to a size, in S, M and L. Reach for the scarf top when you want a true open summer look.
They do. The scarf tops carry Shoushia-inspired tassels, and the bateau tops and button-up shirts are finished with Amazigh letter beading - each one set by hand in our Guéliz atelier, perfectly imperfect, no two quite the same.
The scarf top loves a pareo skirt, the bateau top sits well over palazzo pants, and the shirt layers over either. Keep to one colourway for a calm, quiet set, or mix Hot Red, Camel and Black Olive when you feel like playing.
